How do I register for the course?
Go to the green button in the top right corner that says - Login/Signup. Then click on the "Signup" option.
How much do the courses cost?
Nothing, they are free!
Are there any pre-requisites for the courses?
Yes, sometimes there are pre-requisites. You will need to check the course details to determine these. For example, the Physiotherapy MOOC requires participants to be either enrolled in a physiotherapy course or have completed a physiotherapy course. Pre-requisites are sometimes set to ensure the online discussions are appropriate.
Will I need to log on at particular times?
No. There is no live or real-time material, so you can log on and complete the content at any time within the 5 week time frame of the course. Therefore, you can complete the course if you are in a different time zone, or wish to participate at different times of the day.
Are the courses fully online?
Yes, the courses have been designed to allow participants to complete all content online.
How many hours a week will I need to dedicate to the courses?
Approximately 5 hours per week. There will be additional reading and learning activities for those who wish to do more.
How often do the courses run?
The courses will run periodically throughout each year. The discipline-specific courses will probably run each year. The courses will be advertised through the ISCoS website.
Are there exams or assignments?
Yes there is a final test.
Will the MOOC be available in different languages?
Yes, the MOOC will be available in:

2. Portuguese
3. Spanish
4. Chinese
5. French
You must select the language you want from the home screen (www.elearnSCI.org). For example, you can not register in English and then automatically move to Spanish. If you want to do the MOOC in Spanish then you must register in Spanish from the home page. You can register in both English and Spanish but you will then receive all emails twice: in both languages.
What is a MOOC?
A MOOC is a massive open online course. Massive, because it attracts a cohort larger than traditional university courses; Open, because it's free; Online, because you can access it on the Web from anywhere in the world; and Course because … it's a course.

Who will benefit from doing these courses?
These courses are primarily intended for students and junior clinicians interested in spinal cord injuries. You will need to check the course details to see the intended audience of the different courses run through this website.
How long do the courses go for?
The courses typically run for 5 weeks.
How many people will be doing the courses at once?
The number of people doing any particular course may vary from 80 to 25,000. The first physiotherapy course we ran had 3,500 people. The last course that we ran in 2022 had 25,000 people.
Do I receive a certificate of completion?
Yes, if you pass the final test you will automatically be able to download a free certificate of completion/participation.
Can I use a tablet, such as an iPad, or my mobile phone to access the course?
Yes, you will be able to access and read all the content on tablets and mobile devices.
