AOA Accredited Fellowship

Teaching and Mentorship

The Dandenong Hand Fellowship is a 12 month Australian hand surgery clinical fellowship program based at Dandenong Hospital, Monash Health, Melbourne and is affiliated with the Hand and Wrist Biomechanics Laboratory (HWBL), O’Brien Institute.

 

There are currently 6 hand surgeons actively involved in the program, which covers all aspects of hand and wrist surgery, including reconstructive microsurgery, except congenital hand surgery. In addition, further exposure to elbow and shoulder surgery is possible, if desired.

 

Applications for the next hand fellowship position beginning in August 2025 is currently open and closes on March 31st 2024.

The Dandenong Hospital Division of Hand Surgery has been proudly named an IBRA Training Centre. This allows residents and fellows from all around the world to visit the unit and engage and participate in the various clinical and research activities of the department.

Congratulations to Dr Tanup Prasai, from Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital, Nepal, as the successful recipient of the Rowan Nicks Scholarship, RACS. He will spend 1 year with the Dandenong Hand Unit.
