See AllStill room for improvement
Better than it was previously in that at least the ability to sort comments by "most liked" has been restored. I’m getting a bit tired of having my comments rejected and have the distinct impression that at least one of your moderators might be better suited at the Guardian. Interestingly, minor changes to phrasing and repeat submission are then accepted so clearly allowed by another moderator with a different viewpoint. The ability to see my saved articles is completely broken and does not work at all. The date and timestamp on articles is often missing which makes it impossible to know when they were published especially if linked from another article. Take a lesson from the Wall Street Journal app.
Developer Response ,
Hi there,
We apologise for the issues you've encountered with The Australian's app. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us enhance the app experience.
Regarding the saved stories, I attempted to replicate the issue but was unable to do so. Could you please email a screenshot of the problem to tausappfeedback@news.com.au? We are keen to get this fixed for you.
As for the timestamps, we have a logic system that highlights recent stories and activates the timestamp.
If you have any additional feedback, please feel free to email us at tausappfeedback@news.com.au.
Regards,
The Australian
Link subscription to comments
Obviously something has changed with your app or with the Australian newspaper. I can no longer use the comments to reply to any of your articles if you’ve changed something would you like to tell all your readers or you may lose them? I don’t know how to link my subscription to comments so that means I can’t use the app on my iPhone In addition I tried on the desktop and the function doesn’t work at all. Ie I can’t reply I’m your comments section I’ve noticed this in the last few days Would somebody. suggest a solution And in addition, your NEWSPAPER has gone mad in that every article I tried to There are ads. Ads on top ads on the side ads in between paragraphs . Ads under the article It’s a very unpleasant experience to try and read the article in your Saturday AUSTRALIAN. I ended up turning off the computer. WHAT IS GOING WRONG WITH THIS PAPER??
Whoever is in charge of your layout, please let them know that whatever changes they’ve made the papers going backwards and quality
Quite a few weeks ago, somebody changed their comment section where you actually write in your comment. It’s not as good as it was retrograde move on the part of the designer I would say.
However, I can live with it, but I can’t live with the fact that every time I press the reply button to write in to the paper in regards to an article it doesn’t work
Confused
I often have comments not approved (25%), I assume to avoid upsetting your more sensitive and woke readers. If someone else’s comment can mention no wheels from our Indigenous, why can’t I then mention no spokes from such wheels? As you know, taking an idea further can often highlight the flaws in that idea.
If your excellent articles must sometimes draw back from provoking legal or other attacks, then surely Comments should be able to nibble at the fringes of caution.
The Australian is a wonderful newspaper: its Comments section reinforces its excellence.
Be more tolerant and trusting of those taking the effort to express their opinions. They are the tiny tip of the iceberg of public opinion.
Thank you
