Glyphosate statement
20 June 2020
We are aware of the overseas legal settlement on glyphosate, which remains approved for controlled use in New Zealand.
Based on the balance of scientific evidence, we consider that, provided users follow safety instructions on the labels of products containing glyphosate, it can be used safely to ensure no harm comes to people or the environment.
At this stage, there is insufficient new scientific evidence to justify a reassessment of glyphosate by the EPA. However, we continue to actively monitor international developments. If we consider a formal review is needed, based on new information that becomes available, a reassessment may be initiated.
