Alpine Shire is currently preparing a 10 year Sport and Active Recreation Strategy to guide Council's decision making and investment in sport and active recreation facilities, programs and services.  We would love to hear your ideas.

Listening Posts and workshops

Monday 22 March.  Older adults workshop.  Myrtleford Library. 10.15am-11.15am.  Only 10 places available.

Monday 22 March: Sports Club Workshop.  The Pavilion, Pioneer Park, Bright.  5.30pm-6.30pm. 


Tuesday 23 March: Listening Post in the BBQ area at Bicentennial Park in Mount Beauty.  2.30pm-3.30pm.

The progress of our Strategy

Phase Complete

Background research

Background research such as a literature review, participation data, trends identification, facility audit and organisational mapping occurred over January and February 2021.

Community engagement

Community engagement will be undertaken over a 6 week period from 1st March to 8th April 2021.  It includes surveys, workshops, interviews with key stakeholders and online engagement.

Future Phase

Analysis and preparation of strategy

All of the information gained through research and community engagement will be analysed and presented as a strategic plan to guide Council's decision making and investment into sport and active recreation for the next 10 years.  It is expected that the strategy will be completed by end of June 2021.
