BARC advances a bold vision for mental health, reimagining support for mental distress, trauma and suicidality through a cultural and creative lens.
Placing lived experience at the forefront of research and practice, BARC brings together expertise in art, design, social work, health, ethnography, and technology to develop the rich communications, resources and programs we need to address mental health in the 21st-century.
BARC encompasses The Big Anxiety Festival – a platform for innovative engagement and experimentation that has expanded from Sydney to Melbourne, Brisbane and regional Queensland in 2022.
