Why Platt Hall?

Why Platt Hall?

Platt Hall is approximately five-minutes' walk to Colindale tube station and within 20-minutes' walk from our Hendon campus.

It's our largest student hall with a lively student community, close to local parks and StoneX Stadium, home to our West Stand state-of-the-art nursing facilities and the local rugby team Saracens.

Platt Hall shares the communal TV lounge and study rooms located at Writtle House (which is next door), and you'll have access to all the private green space around the buildings too.

Our residents' assistants will also organise social and sports events.

"I lived in Platt Halls student residence in my first year and it was the best choice I could have made as I knew nothing about the city and did not know anyone here."

International student from Portugal

Hi, I'm Tia, a third -year sports rehabilitation student, and I am here at Platte Halls to see my friend Shania. She's going to take us around and give us a little talk. Hi! I actually am a first- year sociology student and welcome to my room.

This here is where I sleep, it's a very comfortable bed. They give you a desk for your room, this is why I keep my TV, is a really big thing to me. This originally is supposed to be a study area, but I prefer to study in a common room I like that though, because you separate your study from your state.

Honestly, it does be wonderful. Yeah. The wardrobe. What do we have in here? I have a lot of clothes. As you can see, there's a little storage space. Yeah, so much storage in this room. Really good because I love clothes and I really love fashion.

But this side, we also have the bathroom. In the bath room... Wait, look how big the mirror is. It's huge mirror. This is where I do my makeup. So this is the toilet. I've got a cute little sticker on there.

That's how it is! The shower. It is actually very spacious, that's fantastic. The favourite things in my room are my LED lights, they go all the way around my room. Mr Bear here and my little picture frame that my friend made me.

One more thing, it's my galaxy light. It's very nice, and it makes the place really homey as well. I share this kitchen with five other people, let's go in. Hi guys! So this is the kitchen. As soon as you walk in, what you see is the fridge.

We have a smaller fridge here which allows all of us to have our own little section. We also got a cabinet, so many cabinets. Combination gives us a toaster, a kettle, a microwave, and a cook arm. What's your favourite like uni snack or meal?

My favourite. Uni meal. We need fish minkers. I like fish minks a lot. This is where me and my family normally have dinner sometimes, they're cut chopped and made in here together. Things that they give us to clean our room, they gave us the vacuum here.

We've also a paneling brush and a room over here, this is the bigger common room make for flat residents. Right here you have this huge TV, people have got some Netflix on here, you can play games, feed cards.

The big speed card is really good and really loud and the bass is awesome, I love these things out there. Then here we have the pool table, but I can't play pool at school. I tried to in the lookout.

It's nice that you've got the indoor setting and outdoor setting. This is my first spaceship. This a laundry room, there's a lot of washing machines and dryers as well. That's the good thing because then you'd have to dry your clothes in your room.

Each block has their own respective mailbox, it's actually separated to each section where they get muddled up. What about the shopping? So where do you get your food? We have a lot available to us, as do our Morrisons, Tesco, things we have to ask.

Wow, so many. Honestly. As for like food and things like that, we've got Chinese, Indian, Mexican, if you want to hang out with your friends, get coffee. Costas literally down the road. What would be your favourite thing about living in Platt?

I think it would the green spaces that are available for us but if it is behind me we have ventures as well. there, front me over there we have benches. It's really nice because you can get to sit down with your friends and catch up.

So that's it guys, Shania any last advice and top tips? Top tip number one would be to definitely go into accommodation for your first year, it allows you to make friends, socialise more. Top tip two would to be make it your back year.

Make it cosy, make a summer you want to relax and be in. Thank you so much Shaniya. You're welcome. Bye from Blackhall! Bye!
