The first few weeks at university can be an absolute whirlwind; Finding your way around, meeting new people, joining clubs or sporting teams, making sense of your class schedule and figuring out who serves the best coffee on campus. And that’s before classes even begin!

One of the best places to help you succeed at uni is the Library, but it sometimes takes a while to find out all the great ways we can help you. Fortunately, there are many students who have done all this before. During the last couple of weeks our campus libraries have been gathering tips from more experienced students about things they wish they knew about our libraries in first year. So read on to benefit from their hindsight and take full advantage of the library from the get-go.

Four handwritten post-it notes of things people wish they knew about the library. Text reads: “I wish I knew about the library workshops! They’re very helpful.” “The basement is the best also study group room upstairs behind shelves (it’s a maze).” “Library staff are so knowledgeable and generous with their knowledge.” “3 hour laptop loan free for students.”
