Last year, 500 BILLION plastic bags were produced worldwide, many of which have a working life of just a few minutes. Some of the ways you can support the movement include: 1. Sign the Global Plastics Treaty petition (sign up page in link in bio) 2. Reject FAST FASHION. 3. Reduce your plastic use by avoiding single-use items, start with a re-useable coffe cup and say no to water in plastic bottles! 4. Educate yourself on plastics to understand the detrimental impacts to human and planetary health and find sustainable alternatives to foster positive change. 5. Purchase items secondhand. 6. ☀️Lovely warm and sunny weather for the start of the school holidays.. the water is still great for swimming! But note some beaches including Hyams (this was taken two weeks ago 📷 thx @lolajarrige_ ) are experiencing the unique and natural phenomenon of seaweed banks after last week’s storms. 🐝🐝🐝 Exciting day yesterday as we welcomed 100,000 bees across 4 hives to their new neighbourhood here amongst the gum trees and paperbarks. This is our second attempt.. a few years ago we tried but seemed they preferred it elsewhere .. it was in a very dry period so perhaps not enough to keep them here.. hoping that they will find enough to feed on this time and will stay a while, and to eventually provide us with Woollamia honey! 🍯

As the evenings get a bit cooler, time to fire up the very clever and sustainable wood pellet heater from @piazzetta.com.au in our King Deluxe safari tent, ‘King Parrot’. It uses compacted recycled wood biomass and has lower emissions compared to firewood .. literally a handful of pellets warms this tent for hours!
