Sport and Recreation COVID-19 Cleaning Subsidy, supported by Lotterywest

$1.65 million State Government funding to help community sport and active recreation clubs with COVID-related cleaning and personal hygiene costs.

Register your club or sign in to an existing account to apply for the COVID-19 Cleaning Subsidy. KidSport clubs can use their existing account to sign in.

Subsidies are available in 2 streams:

  • $2000 for clubs who own, operate, or lease a facility (such as clubrooms) and are responsible for the facility’s cleaning costs
  • $500 for clubs who do not own, operate or lease a facility.

Eligibility

  • local sport clubs
  • local active recreation clubs
  • state-wide.

Funding

Funding may be used for:

  • equipment and materials for sanitisation, cleaning, and safe participation in physical activity (for example, cleaning products, hand sanitiser, disposable face masks, rapid antigen tests (RATs) for volunteers). 
  • printing of COVID-19 related signage to display around clubrooms or grounds.
  • costs associated with the physical cleaning of a venue (for example, paying cleaners or staff) 
  • replacement of equipment that is deemed unhygienic for use by participants.

How to apply

  1. Read the guidelines to find out if your club is eligible.
  2. If eligible, create an online account on the DLGSC club portal and register your organisation’s details (skip this step if you already have a KidSport account).
  3. Click on COVID-19 Cleaning Subsidy button to complete the online application form. Attach supporting documents before the closing date and time. You may be contacted by DLGSC if further information is needed.
  4. Payments to successful applicants will take approximately four weeks from closing date.
