SMART COMMUNITIES CONFERENCE COMING TO ADELAIDE – GET YOUR TICKET!

In May, Adelaide will host the Telstra Australian Smart Communities Conference. Delegates will connect with, be introduced to, learn from, and become inspired by national and international leaders at the forefront of what it takes to become a smart community.

ADELAIDE’S SMART CITY ROADMAP

Over the last few months, we have been working on a Smart City Roadmap, with support from Arup and our other smart city stakeholders. The goal is to identify smart city projects that are relevant and achievable for Adelaide, with the potential to make the greatest impact. We look forward to releasing the Roadmap soon.

The inaugural Smart City Venture Dorm Summer School Accelerator is now complete. We saw some great pitches, with three sustainability-focused startups taking out prizes. Well done to City ReCycle, Gläshaus and The Cup Crusade.

The Future Cities report by Ernst & Young found that the rise of digital and mobile technologies will generate different ways of interacting with cities and infrastructure. The report lays bare the increasing pressure on our cities as the global population grows to 9 billion.

FAREWELL LEGO DISPLAY

SMART CITY TRENDING: AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT’S $50M SMART CITIES FUND

The Federal Government has raised the stakes for data-driven urban living, by issuing the first multi-million dollar grants as part of a $50 million R&D program aimed at kickstarting smart cities innovation.

SMART WATER & OPEN DATA EVENT
|
|
|
To commemorate World Water Day, 22 March 2017, the Studio co-hosted an event with the Water Industry Alliance. Approximately 100 people attended the event at SA Water to hear about Adelaide's smart water grid from SA Water's CE Roch Cheroux. Other speakers included Tina Ferguson from Department of Premier & Cabinet, Sonjoy Ghosh from City of Adelaide and Anat Efron from Thinxstra.
