About this event

The third event of the S4PG x TFOM series focuses on the themes of inclusion and public good in the context of academia, bringing together a range of perspectives from our invited speakers Mohammad Taha, Emily Henderson and Thilina Heenatigala. Together with our attendees and speakers, we hope to explore tangible ways that academia might diversify in the near future to be more inclusive and accessible, and what role science for public good may play in this evolution.

The Science for the Public Good x TFOM events are a series of talks and panel discussions demonstrating the use of virtual platforms as interactive and effective venues that scientists can use to engage audiences with their work, especially early career researchers or those disadvantaged by the need to physically travel. These events will be focused on aspects of the broad topic of Science for the Public Good including how this may be interpreted across different fields, academia, industry, and public engagement. There are two main aims of these events: to initiate discussions about what Science for the Public Good may look like and how it can be achieved, and to showcase how mixed reality approaches can improve how we interact and share our research.
