RoboCoast Sunshine Coast Robotics Association is a hub of state and private schools operating on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. Our objective is to promote the uptake of robotics and coding in the region through the delivery of staff and student training days, visits and a range of fun robotics competitions such as RoboRAVE Australia.
The Teacher PD is a day which has been designed by teachers, to cater for beginners through to advanced teachers of robotics. We focus on block coding and Python, using LEGO Spike Prime, EV3, mBot Rangers and mBot2 (for Python Coding) in preparation for competition and setting up robotics clubs.
A range of workshops will be run throughout the day and delivered by expert robotics teachers from the Sunshine Coast from both Primary and Secondary schools, unless otherwise indicated. The workshops run over 3 sessions of 90 mins each and are capped at 20 teachers per workshop.
If you are a beginner, we recommend that your 3 x workshop choices are Beginner block coding, Setting up robotics clubs and programs, and Robotics in the Primary curriculum. You need to have some coding and robotics experience for the Intermediate and Advanced block coding and Python sessions.
We will supply all the robots for the workshops, all you need to bring is your laptop with the software required for your session downloaded prior to attending. Information on the software you will need for each session will be provided to you in the confirmation email and PDF you are sent when you complete your registration.
