When Dr Catherine Crock began working in children’s hospitals in the 1990s she was shocked by the unnecessary pain and discomfort many kids endured.
She began talking with families and colleagues about how hospitals could be made kinder places.
One of the key things Catherine introduced was music.
It replaced the scary beeping and machine noises that can alarm patients unfamiliar with the invasive sounds of a hospital.
Two decades on, the Hush Foundation is still going strong.
In the years since Hush started, Catherine has had three brushes with death.
Music and the art of mosaic have been vital to her recovery.
