Join the Griffons of Instagram, Squid the Griff, Ernie's Journey, Grumpy Griffons and Willow Von Ruff to raise funds for those who cannot evacuate; wildlife impacted by the raging Australian bushfires.
Our hearts are broken by these bushfires which are burning all over Australia and devastating the wildlife across the country. More than 12 million acres of land has been scorched and there is a widely-reported estimate that almost half a billion (480 million) animals have been killed by the bush fires in Australia. The wildlife need our help!
Kangaroo Island (KI) is located off the coast of South Australia and is known for its abundance of native wildlife. The beautiful KI holds a special place in Squid's heart with many close friends calling it their home. More than 1/2 of the island is burnt and rescue groups across KI are desperately seeking funds to help with veterinary costs, koala milk and supplements, extra holding / rehabilitation enclosures, as well as setting up a building to hold supplies to treat these animals.
Wildlife Victoria are asking for donations to their bushfire appeal. These will be distributed to wildlife shelters and carers to help rebuild enclosures and equipment lost in the fires to continue their lifesaving work and support those struggling to cope with the enormous number of animals that will need care in the coming weeks and months.
All funds raised will be split 50/50 between the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Network and Wildlife Victoria. Squid's Mum (aka Susanne) will personally withdraw and handle the funds raised and distribute these directly to the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Network and Wildlife Victoria.
It is predicted that the worst of the fires are yet to come so lets band together and raise as much as we can to support the innocent wildlife.
