Dunedin urban cycleways

The Dunedin Urban Cycleways programme will form a safe and integrated cycle network for the city. It will also help achieve the city’s goal for Dunedin to reach a 40% active mode share (walking, cycling and public transport).

The programme will be delivered in stages. The first was the Peninsula Connection, which started in 2013 and is currently under construction.

The Water of Leith walking and cycling bridge was completed in 2018 and a connection between the Water of Leith bridge and St Andrew Street was started in 2018. Projects currently under construction are expected to be completed in 2023.
