Dear members,
We’re starting the search for our next 60 Superstars of STEM! We’ll be taking applications from this Wednesday, 15 August 2018. As a valued member of Science & Technology Australia, we’re particularly keen that your members and staff are aware of the opportunity – that’s why I’m writing to give you a few days’ advance notice.
Please identify and encourage articulate and passionate women to apply: we want to make sure as many STEM disciplines as possible are represented on the program.

Each of the participants will be equipped with the skills, contacts and opportunities to become confident public spokespeople for their work, their discipline, and their sector. They will meet decision makers at all levels of government, media, business and academia, and we will provide them with opportunities to connect with thousands of students across Australia.
But first, we need your help to get the most passionate and articulate women in STEM to apply. We have crafted some sample tweets below, and invite you to download and share our Superstars of STEM banners from this Wednesday:
- The national search for #SuperstarsofSTEM has begun. Encourage amazing #WomeninSTEM to apply before applications close on 23 September http://bit.ly/StarsofSTEM
- Are you woman who is passionate about your science, maths or technology? Do you want to inspire young Australians to consider a career in STEM? Then apply to one of the #SuperstarsofSTEMhttp://bit.ly/StarsofSTEM
- Celebrating articulate, passionate and inspiring female scientists and technologists – the #SuperstarsofSTEM search has begun, will you answer the call and apply http://bit.ly/StarsofSTEM
We also invite you to share this opportunity with your friends, colleagues, or even STEM professionals you don’t know but admire – be the spark that ignites their Superstardom.
If we can assist at any point along the way, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with myself, or the Program Manager Brodie Steel.
Kind regards,
Kylie Walker
