Queensland Radiation Oncology Advanced Training Network (QROTN) is part of the The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists, Faculty of Radiation Oncology (RANZCR) networked training model.

Read about the Faculty of Radiation Oncology on the RANZCR website.

A training network is a formalised system of training delivery, where:

  • Trainees rotate between training sites within the network
  • training sites are linked for the purpose of delivering the Faculty of Radiation Oncology training program
  • trainees gain access to multiple radiation oncology facilities that offer different settings, tumour sites, clinical supervisors, patient groups and cultural issues
  • trainees gain access to all experiences required to fulfill the Radiation Oncology Training Program Handbook

As a trainee, you will receive support through a competency-based training program. Read about the RANZCR Radiation Oncology learning outcomes.

Applying

In February 2024 the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) implemented a selection into specialty training process which applies to all new accredited training positions commencing from 2025 onwards.

The trainee selection process is a comprehensive system designed to identify and appoint high-calibre candidates for training positions within RANZCR.

Applying to RANZCR specialty training positions commencing in 2025

For all accredited training positions commencing in 2025, applicants are required to register with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR). This registration will need to be completed prior to any trainee job applications submitted to the RMO Campaign.

To initiate the College registration process, candidates must create a profile in the RANZCR system via https://www.myranzcr.com/applications/. You will be prompted to answer eligibility screening questions, upon meeting the criteria you will complete the registration form and then pay the fee.

If you have any questions about this aspect of your application, please contact ROTraining@ranzcr.edu.au

The College will then verify the eligibility documents and issue a College Registration Verification Number (CRVN) This CRVN is used in all network applications and will be valid until the end of each calendar year.

Queensland, candidates apply directly to the training network(s) and will need to submit their College Registration Verification Number (CRVN) as part of their application.

Applications for the RMO Campaign are open from Monday 3 June closing Monday 1 July 2024. You must upload all supporting documentation and consult your referees before completing the online application. The system automatically generates referee reports and emails them to your nominated referees when you complete the referee section. Please ensure your referees are aware of this process. If referee reports are not available, you may not be eligible for selection.

The selection process is competitive therefore, if you desire entry to the Queensland Radiation Oncology Training Network it is recommended that you make Radiation Oncology advanced training position your first preference. If you need help completing your preferences at Step 10: Preference section in the application, use the Radiation oncology preference guide. [PDF 291.68 KB]
