  • In celebration of International Women’s Day, Penfolds Senior Winemaker Steph Dutton took part in a panel discussion at the Strathmore Hotel on Friday, March 7.   With a portion of event proceeds donated to Catherine House Inc, an organisation dedicated to supporting women experiencing homelessness, Steph was joined by an inspiring panel of women from South Australia’s wine industry to celebrate the remarkable achievements of women in the sector.   A thought-provoking and empowering discussion highlighting the ongoing efforts to drive inclusivity and change within the wine industry, the panel explored the importance of diversity, the expanding opportunities for women in the sector, and the positive changes the group hopes to see in the future.

  • Last week we had the pleasure of hosting 20 students from California Polytechnic State University at Magill Estate during their first trip to Australia. With a solid foundation in agriculture and many of them studying winemaking and viticulture, the group explored South Australia’s renowned wine regions as part of their course, culminating in a visit to the home of Penfolds.    It was a great opportunity to support their learning and winemaking knowledge by sharing more about the Penfolds story, including our signature House Style, multi-regional sourcing philosophy and presence in Paso Robles, Napa Valley, and Sonoma Valley.   #PenfoldsEvermore #futuregenerations #education #wine

Meet our Penfolds Evermore grant recipient, Mobius Farms. A local organisation based in the Barossa; Mobius Farms were awarded AUD$54,000 for their project, ‘Closing the loop on grape waste through insect bioconversion’. Using red and white grape marc as a feedstock for insects, the team will assess the impacts of insect frass on vineyard soil and plant health with the aim of closing the loop on winemaking ‘waste’ while enhancing viticulture sustainability. Hear from the Mobius Farms team below about their project, how this solution can close the loop on grape waste, and the importance of healthy soil and plant life. • Earlier this year, we celebrated the successful recipients of our One by Penfolds Scholarship Fund, in partnership with the China Agricultural University, by hosting an awards ceremony and wine tasting experience for undergraduate students, PhD candidates and faculty members.   The One by Penfolds Scholarship Fund and Academic Exchange Program is part of our Penfolds Evermore program and is focused on the development of talent and sharing of viticultural and winemaking expertise including financial support based on merit and need, academic and cultural exchange, and resources for wine education.   The program provides a great opportunity for all involved to share their experience and expertise while also providing opportunities for growth for future generations looking to work in the industry.   #Penfolds #PenfoldsEvermore #education #futurewinemaking #scholarship
