UTS Seminar: TRIZ heuristics: engaging students in enhancing creative problem-solving skills
Event description
The UTS Faculty of Engineering and IT warmly invites you to a seminar by Professor Iouri Belsk
This seminar will uncover ways of effective embedding simple heuristics of the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) into existing engineering courses.
Participants will learn a couple of simple TRIZ heuristics and also will find out:
- why TRIZ heuristics suit the engineering profession the most;
- the outcomes of usage of educational materials offered by the TRIZ Repository (www.edisons21.com) by educators in Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong;
- how to choose a TRIZ heuristic that suits their courses;
- how to engage students in learning TRIZ heuristics with fun.
Participants will also apply TRIZ heuristics to uncover the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle.
