The Committee has been receiving lots of questions lately about two big issues - the change to the MiMembership payment system, and the upcoming Special General Meeting.

Firstly, our apologies to members who were caught off guard by the changes to the payment system for membership fees as we exit the Ezipay and Ezidebit systems and move to the MiMembership platform.

We have implemented a four-week grace period to allow members to continue playing while setting up their new membership payment plans. Please see Jarrod in the office if you have any questions or need assistance in setting up your payment plan.

There have also been a number of questions about the proposed changes to the Club's constitution, including an email from Dr Michael Lamparelli asking: 'Would you be able to highlight the changes made from the current constitution to make it easier to focus on the changes please?'

The major changes are:

An upgrade to the Appeals Process (clauses 4.3 to 4.5) & the addition of a Grievance Procedure (4.6 - pages 12-14). This is required by the Department of Fair Trading to be in place by 30/06/22 in all constitutions.
Section 5.1 Membership of the Board - president, vice president, treasurer, captain and at least three other members. The term of office is 2 years, with approximately half the board to be initially elected for a 2-year period and the other half for 1 year. Hence there will always be half the committee with at least 1 year of experience following the AGM. Previously the Committee had 12 members and they are all up for re-election each AGM.
Sections 9 and 10 deal with positions of Secretary & the General Manager which aren't mentioned in current constitution.

The SGM will be held on Monday May 16 from 6pm in the RGC Clubhouse.

COMPETITION RESULTS

Michael Bateman, who carded a nett 67 on Saturday, is the latest player to qualify for the Monthly Medal Finals at the end of the year, while Cameron Wyatt has jumped to the top of the leaderboard for the Noel Russell Trophy for the best average over six rounds of Medal events.

And in the Elders Insurance Golfer of the Year Stephen Osborne is now out in front after the weekend's April event.
