SMS Warnings Registration

To receive SMS (text) messages from the Shire of Chittering regarding fire-related warnings, you can fill out the below web form.

SMS Warnings will notify residents of following:

  • Harvest, Hot Works and Vehicle Movement (HHWVM) Bans (declared by the Shire)
  • Total Fire Bans (declared by DFES)
  • Changes to Restricted & Prohibited Burning Periods (declared by the Shire)
  • Cancellation of Fire Permits due to high ratings on the Fire Danger Index

TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. All bans will still be broadcast on radio and this is still the primary means of notification of bans, text messages should not be relied upon as the primary means of advice
2. By subscribing to this service you agree to receive SMS messages from the Shire of Chittering regarding harvest and other bans imposed during the fire season. You accept that by subscribing to this service you will receive message for the current and future fire seasons.
3. The Shire of Chittering reserves the right to discontinue this service at any time. Any decision to discontinue this service will be advised via this SMS service.
4. Contractors are only added to the SMS list for a period of 12 months. After this time, you will be required to reapply
5. You have the right to unsubscribe from this service at any time, to unsubscribe please notify the Shire of Chittering in writing. Please DO NOT attempt to unsubscribe via replying to an SMS notification.
6. Electronic submission of the above web form negates the requirement of a signature.
