Holiday Workshops

Event description

Monday 5th July 2021

9:00am to 3:30pm

For ages 6 - 12+ (in separate groups)

The weather is cool and so are the robots, especially when they can be programmed to perform precision manoeuvres, just as their operators intended! With a general robot focus, an understanding will build, of the electronics that comprise the robots and the coding that control them.

No prior experience in Coding is necessary, but if participants have attended our previous workshops, they'll be eager to take the next steps in their digital technology journey.

For learning about technology, Robots are the ideal medium. They contain sophisticated systems that can be coded to precisely control their movement. Coders learn to be methodical, patient and to think logically. These attributes form naturally because the robots are engaging, so the Coder is invested in the learning process. From their perspective though, it's just playtime with (expensive) toys!

The theme for this workshop is out of this world!

We all love a nice picnic, but it’s not always easy to find that special out-of-the-way place that’s just right! Well we think we’ve found it! You’ll code your own animated Luna travel adventure, code your Moon buggy to navigate the terrain and create a cool electronic project as well!

Hands on, interactive, educational and of course, lots of fun!
