Outdoor gathering and hospitality bookings to increase
The number of people who can attend outdoor gatherings, restaurant group bookings and weddings will increase under a relaxation of COVID-19 rules.
From Friday 23 October 2020:
- 30 people can gather outdoors in public spaces (this was previously 20)
- 30 customers for each booking and 30 customers at each table at hospitality venues (previously the rule was a maximum of 10).
From Tuesday 1 December 2020, the number of people who can attend weddings will increase to 300 people. This will be subject to the 4 square metre indoors and 2 square metre rule outdoors.
Businesses must use electronic methods, including QR codes, to keep a record of guests contact details.
People are reminded to continue to follow the COVID-19 recommendations. This includes maintaining physical distancing and wearing a mask indoors when you cannot physically distance.
