The world needs more women leaders, who #empower and #inspire others. One of my leading examples in the startup space has been Selena Griffith GAICD FEAD FSSE FIH. As CEO of Enactus, Selena has been inspiring and empowering hundreds of university students across Australia to launch and lead social entrepreneurial startups. By shifting the paradigm from competition to collaboration - #weallwin - from raw tech to multidisciplinary, and from you’re just a student to you can change the world, she motivates 22 #teams, totalling 1,200 #students who created together 60 #projects and put in place 18,000 #volunteer hours a year. The ripple effects of her actions are profound: for many of us Enactus became the lever to entrepreneurship, and create or join startups. You can’t change the world on your own, but if you manage to inspire as many #changemakers and future diverse and #female #leaders, you can speak of a revolution! So yes, while we take the stage during the Enactus competitions and in our study and professional post-study life as female leaders, it is Selena who is cheering in the background, #enabling us to become the female leaders we are. Therefore I nominate Selena for the Startmate #ladymatesleadership because yes, #youcantbewhatyoucantsee!

Last week the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) Enactus Australia team participated at the National competition in Melbourne, and we won for the third year in a row the #Spirit of Enactus price! Teamwork ;) #Congratulations to the team of Enactus Melbourne university for winning and representing our country at the World competition in Kazackstan; and congratulations to all other teams for inspiring us all to make a #collective #impact! A warm thank you to Tina Demetriou and Selena Griffith GAICD FEAD FSSE FIH assisted by Cody de Leijer for organising the Competition, and supporting us during the year! Thanks as well to the supporting organisations CSIRO, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Holan Group, EY, Randstad, and all the judges and board members. Every solution start with a first conversation, which plants the seeds for change to come. Therefore, it was #inspiring to see different students from Queensland #universities ideating and problem-solving #together at the #Hackathon for #Peace with Enactus Australia and PaxHax. Thank you to all attendees from Griffith University, University of the Sunshine Coast, The University of Queensland, University of Southern Queensland, and QUT (Queensland University of Technology) for sharing your interest and passion, and to judges Kerryn Devenny and Erika Isabel Y. for sharing your wise advice and insights!
