CLUB RULES (Revised 1.11.2016)

1No member shall be eligible to compete in competitions unless an appropriate membership fee has been paid.

2Competitions are held each month February – November.

Small Colour Prints:

a.Open or set subject as listed on programme. Maximum of three (3) entries per member per monthly competition.

b.All entries must bear a title eg. “Landscape” and club number of author on the back of photograph.

c.Prints must have been taken by the exhibitor. Commercial printing allowed.

d.All entries must be mounted on card.

e.Maximum size of print excluding mount 4”x 6” (10.1cm x 15.2cm)

Large Colour Prints:

Monochrome Prints:

EDPI (Digital):

The images should be put on a flash drive and brought to the meeting the month prior to competition or emailed to the Competition Secretary one month prior to competition.

If more than one month’s entries are on the flash drive they must be put into folders named with the month you would like to enter them into competition.

Maximum size 1920 pixels wide X 1080 pixels high. No larger than 5000kb (5MB)

NO ENTRY IS TO BE RE-ENTERED IN ANY PORTLAND CAMERA CLUB COMPETITION.

3Entries to be handed to Competition Secretary at the meeting prior to month of competition eg. March entries to be handed in at the February meeting. This enables the images to be forwarded to Judge in early February for evaluation and then returned to us by the first Tuesday in March for our meeting.

Entries will be judged out of 15 points for the monthly competitions.

ANNUAL AWARDS:

This is held annually on the 1st Tuesday in December.

Each financial member is allowed to enter up to four (4) Small colour prints, four (4) Large colour prints, four (4) Monochrome prints and four (4) EDPI’s (Digital images) which they have entered in monthly competitions during that year.

TROPHIES & AWARDS:

Trophies will be awarded to the member who gains the highest number of points during the year in each section. These will be called the aggregate trophies.

An achievement award may also be given if the committee so desires.

CARTHEW CUP:

This is a perpetual trophy donated by the Carthew family.

It is awarded to the member who gains the highest number of 1st placings in monthly competitions during the year.

INTERCLUB COMPETITIONS:

The South Western Interclub competition is held annually between Colac, Warrnambool and Portland Camera Clubs usually in March or when the host club decides. The venue is alternated between the clubs.

Medalions are awarded in each section with the shield being won by the club who gains the highest number of points overall.

V.A.P.S. Competition:

Held annually by the Victorian Association of Photographic Society in May each year. Portland Camera Club enters this competition.
