It looks like this /ToUnicode issue was never fully resolved.
Can you please send me directly: ross.moore@mq.edu.au<mailto:ross.moore@mq.edu.au>

Also, tell me which engine (pdfLaTeX/XeLaTeX/LuaLaTeX/dvips+GS) you typically use,
as this can make a difference — or send the .log file too, as this will tell me.
(Beware that “SPAM detection” software may interfere with how my email address above is
delivered to you, so you may have to copy/paste , rather than click an active link, to reply to it.)
Yes, I could probably devise one for myself, but then I need not be using the same collection
of packages as you chose, and loaded in what order.
It is surprising how different packages can interact these days; especially when it comes to
very low-level stuff, such as this.

I emailed you the source code and generated pdf. It seems to happen both on the latest stable version, as well as HEAD. (I am using pdflatex to generate). The code is:

If you have the word

in a document, a screen reader only seesrst
. You also see this if you try to copy/paste the wordfirst
from a pdf to a text file. This seems to be unique to acmart, as all of the other document classes I've tried seem to properly have the text
first
.The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
