Sydney Cancer Partners
Strengthening cancer research capacity to improve outcomes for people living with cancer

The goal of Sydney Cancer Partners is to drive translation of research into better health service delivery and cancer outcomes.

Sydney Cancer Partners is supported by a translational cancer research capacity building grant from the Cancer Institute NSW and was established under the auspices of Sydney Health Partners in 2021. We are also a Clinical Academic Group (CAG) of Sydney Health Partners.

Our overarching goal is to improve cancer outcomes by fostering a culture of innovation and collaborative research across the full spectrum of cancer care.

A Strong Partnership

Our partnership is made up of the Sydney, Northern Sydney and Western Sydney Local Health Districts; the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (at Westmead), the University of Sydney and 11 medical research institutes.

Collectively, our Partners care for 2.7 million people, representing more than 10 per cent of the Australian population and 30 per cent of people across New South Wales.

Our unique advantages rest in the strong leadership of our Local Health Districts, a long history of successful collaboration between the University and research institutes and our scale of operation.
